Thunder Bowl Speedway

Track Rules

1.       No unauthorized persons are allowed on the racetrack.

2.       Helmets must be worn at all times when operating motorcycles or ATVs – This includes in the pits.

3.       NO pit riding or riding outside the property boundaries – This includes surrounding practice tracks, roads, and trails.

4.       Ride in first gear or under the 5mph speed limits in the pits or you will be pushing your vehicle in the pits.

5.       NO racing out of the staging area (roosting the stager) or you will be pushing your vehicle to the starting line.

6.       Fighting, threats of violence, or intentionally dangerous riding will not be tolerated – Your first warning will be your last! Once you are asked to leave, you are afterwards considered trespassing.

7.       Riders detected using alcohol or drugs will be suspended from practice and racing.

8.       Always leash and cleanup after your pets.

9.       Camping will be available Saturday night after an event or Saturday night before an event.

10.   NO open-pit fires or campfires.

11.   Thunder Bowl Speedway is private property and reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

12.   All decisions and rulings made by Thunder Bowl Speedway staff members are final.

Series Rules & Requirements

1.       All vehicles must have numbers a minimum 6 inches high with 1/2-inch-wide stroke. All numbers and backgrounds must be of contrasting colors such as white/black, yellow/blue. All ATV’s must have numbers on front and rear of vehicle. All adult ATVs in competition are required to have nerf bars, a tether-cord kill switch is recommended. Over-ankle boots, long-sleeve shirt, long pants, gloves, helmet, and goggles required to practice or race.

2.       Classes of less than 6 entries may be run together with classes of comparable skill but scored as separate classes. Trophies are paid to the top one-third of finishers in each class, i.e. 1st only for 3 entries in a class, 1st and 2nd only for 6 entries, 1st, 2nd and 3rd for 9 entries, etc. For safety, heat races will be run for gates of more than 10 racers.

3.       Participation Prizes are always awarded to all kid racers!

4.       Payout Division (Three Entries Minimum for Payout): 3 Entries – 50%, 30, 20; 4 Entries – 45%, 30, 15, 10; 5 Entries – 38%, 22, 18, 12, 10; 6 Entries – 30%, 20, 18, 15, 10, 7; 7 Entries – 29%, 19, 14, 12, 10, 9, 7; 8 Entries – 27%, 17, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 6; 9 Entries – 25%, 17, 13, 12, 11, 7, 6, 5, 4; 10 Entries – 24%, 16, 11, 10, 9, 8,7, 6, 5, 4.

 5.       Spring Series championships are awarded from combined points of ALL seven 2008 Spring Series events. Separate Summer Series championships will be awarded from combined points of ALL seven 2008 Summer Series events. Ties will be broken by the most first place finishes in a series first, then by the most second place finishes, and then by the best finish in the final race of a series if necessary.
